Chicken Water Feeder.
Chicken water feeder using reclaimed materials.
Stuff You Need for This Easy Build.
Empty plastic bottle, plastic garden saucer
Circle cutter, super glue.
Marking, Cutting and Assembly.
Cut a hole the size of the bottle top in the middle of the plastic saucer and one or more smaller holes on the bottle neck. Push the bottle through the hole without the top, twisting that back on over the saucer. You may want to glue or silicone your join for a water tight seal. Or don't and hang the device for a handy shower.
Left the sealant to dry overnight but the two parts are not sitting stable enough, questions are being asked about wether its up to nine uncontrolably thirsty hens savaging it. Drawing board moment.
Always keep your own fluids up yourself when undertaking this instructable. And always remember to take your muddy boots off before trapesing round the house mumbling to yourself about brackets, doodars and thingybobs.
Solved the stability problems with some garden wire which handily doubles as a means of hanging the feeder from the ceiling. Not 100% happy with the finished item. Mostly because the plastic bottle is too weak and crumples under the pressure of the created vacuum. It does work affectively, just not perfectly. Back to the drawing board. Refuse to buy one!
