Chewy Granola Bar Recipes (+ Video!)
Chewy, fun, and simply irresistible, these granola bars are sure to keep you going during those long days at school and work!
Learn how to make Almond & Currant Granola Bars and Peanut Butter & Chocolate Pretzel Granola Bars!
Yield: makes 15 bars for each recipe

Ingredients
For almond & currant granola bars:
- 2 cups of rolled oats
- 2 tsp of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- 1/4 cup of almond butter (or any kind of nut butter, or you can even use unsalted, softened butter)
- 1/4 cup of honey
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1/8 cup of almonds
- 1/8 cup of currants
- 1/8 cup of sunflower seeds
For peanut butter & chocolate pretzel:
- 2 cups of rolled oats
- 1 tsp of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup of graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- 1/3 cup of peanut butter
- 1/4 cup of honey
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1/8 cup of chocolate covered pretzels, chopped
- 1/8 cup of chocolate chips (mini are the best for the recipe)
Almond & Currant Granola Bars
1. Preheat oven to 350˚F. Grease a 9 x 13" pan.
2. For the almond & currant granola bars, in a small bowl, combine oats, cinnamon, and salt.
3. In a separate, larger, bowl, whisk together almond butter, honey, milk, and vanilla extract. Fold in dry ingredients.
4. Add almonds, currants, and sunflower seeds to mixture. Pour mixture into half of the pan, and flatten with a spatula until it forms an even layer.
Peanut Butter Chocolate Pretzel Granola Bars
5. For the peanut butter and chocolate pretzel granola bars, in a small bowl, combine oats, graham cracker crumbs, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
6. In a larger bowl, whisk together peanut butter, honey, milk, and vanilla extract. Add and combine dry ingredients to peanut butter mixture.
7. Once fully incorporated, add chocolate pretzel and chocolate chips to mixture, and combine. Pour entire mixture onto the other half of the pan, and flatten with a spatula.
Bake & Enjoy!
8. Bake both granola bar mixtures for 20 minutes, or until it is firm, slightly golden brown along the edges, and the chocolate has mostly melted.
9. Let bars cool about 5 minutes before cutting into strips. Wrap, and enjoy as a snack at school or work!
