Cardboard & Denim Sticker Display
Do you sell stickers at craft fairs or in a retail store? Do you need an inexpensive (read: basically free) way to display them? Then this is the instructable for you! All you need is some cardboard, some old jeans you can cut up, and a bunch of hot glue.
Supplies
Here’s what you’ll need:
- lots of cardboard
- scissors
- an old pair of jeans
- a ruler
- a pencil
- a hot glue gun
Get Some Cardboard
Start drawing a staircase like shape onto the cardboard. Mine was 11” tall at its tallest, and 10” wide at its widest. Each of the four lower steps (where the stickers would sit) were an inch wide, and going up at approximately a 60 degree angle. The highest step was about 2” wide.
Cut Them Out
Cut out the piece you drew and then cut out an exact copy, turning it over so they’re opposites.
then cut out the following rectangular pieces:
- four 1” x 10” strips (the steps)
- one 2” x 10” strip (the top)
- one 11” x 10” rectangle (the back)
- one 10” x 10” square (the bottom)
- four riser pieces (not shown - 10” x however tall your risers are)
Start Assembly
Using a lot of hot glue and cardboard “brackets” (small strips folded into 90 degree angles), assemble the sides to the back.
Continue Assembly
Continue gluing and bracketing pieces, starting at the top and making your way to the bottom piece. If you want, you can cut a draw bridge style hole in the back for storage.
Cover
You could technically stop at the previous step if you wanted, but if you want it to look a little more polished, feel free to continue with covering. Cut up some old jeans and, starting with the front of the steps, hot glue a large piece. Fold the excess over the sides, gluing it down as you go.
Find some thin cardboard, like a cereal box, and cut two pieces to the size of the sides. Cover with denim and glue to the sides. This way, no cardboard or raw edges of denim are left exposed. Cut rectangular pieces of cardboard to act as “lips” for each step, so whatever you’re displaying won’t slip past the edge. Cover them in denim and hot glue to the front of each step.
Finished
All that’s left to do now is display your stickers! I took mine to a store where I sell stickers and the owner loved it. And it barely cost me anything to make!
