Car Camping Window Screens

Oh, the joy of car camping! Oh, the agony of mosquitoes and other biting insects!
Here is a simple way to cover those car windows to allow the fresh air and goodness of the great outdoors in, while keeping uninvited guests out.
And it can be done for just a few bucks! (or a few hundred yen, depending on where you are.)
Here's the simple steps it took to put window screens on our Minivan.

Materials

These screens were made in just a few minutes from materials bought at a dollar store..
•Laundry bags- the kind clothes is put inside of to protect them while inside the washing machine.
•Magnets- strong hardware type used here, but could possibly use stationary/ refrigerator type.
•Scissors

Cut & Mount With Magnets

Simple! Once the bag has been cut open to get more surface area and make it one-ply, just mount it in place on the steel window frame of the car using the magnets.
The screens can be left in a basic rough cut way...
Or they can be cut to custom fit the shape of the window.

Enjoy the Outdoors!

These screens can be put up and taken off very quickly and easily without tools or modifications to the vehicle.
And the zippers on these laundry bags make it super convenient too, if anything needs to be passed through the window while the screen is in place.
People around the world enjoy car camping- the Japanese expression for Van Life is "Car-Danchi"- hope this little idea makes your Car-Danchi camping experience more enjoyable wherever you are in the world!
