Calzone/pizza Sandwich.
The delicious calzone/pizza sandwich is mouth watering good and takes 30 minutes to prepare (not including dough preparation time.)
Supplies
- 1 rectangular pizza crust
- 1 backing sheet
- Parchment paper
- Pizza roller
- An oven
- Tomato sauce
- 1 spoon
- Mozzarella cheese
- Other toppings on a pizza (I suggest ricotta cheese)
- A fork
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon milk
- 1 Pastry brush
- 1 bowl
Preheat the Oven and Cutting the Dough
Step 1
Preheat your oven to the temperature suggested by the pizza dough recipe/package. Roll out pizza dough in to a rectangle on parchment paper or just unroll pizza dough if prepackaged. Set pizza dough on a backing sheet. Using the pizza roller cut pizza dough into 6-10 equal-ish sized pieces.
Add Your Fillings

Using a spoon and a dolip of tomato sauce in to the middle of each piece of dough making sure non gets to the edges. Then sprinkle some mozzarella cheese in to the middle of each piece of dough and make sure non gets to the edges. Then add any other fixings you would like in to the of middle each piece of dough.
Fold and Seal the Calzones
Step 3
Grab one side of the piece of dough and fold it over to the other side and press around all of the edges. Repeat for all pieces of dough. Then with your fork press on each side multiple times to seal it up nice and tight. Repeat for each calzone.
Make and Use the Egg Wash
Step 4
In a small bowl crack 1 egg and beat with a fork then add a teaspoon of milk. Beat until no egg whites are separate from the rest of the egg wash. Then with a pastry brush apply a heavy layer of the egg wash to each calzone.
Bake
Step 5
Bake your calzones for 15-20 minutes.
