CNC Jibbitz Christmas Tree
The Jibbitz Christmas Tree is a 2-piece project designed by Piedmont Hills High School students, inspired by the spirit of Christmas this holiday season. The Jibbitz Christmas Tree is a simple wood decorative piece that can be interchanged with any custom Jibbitz that pleases your imagination.
Supplies
The tools and supplies needed in this project were...
Machines
- Shark CNC
- 3D Printers
Materials
- Wood
- PLA filament
Fusion 360
We used Fusion 360 to plan out the CNC cutout of the Christmas Tree so we had a general idea of how we'd connect the two-part tree. We also used Fusion 360 to create the Jibbitz pieces that vibrate the tree with different colors.
Shark CNC
Then we used the Fusion 360 model and transferred it into Gcode so the Shark CNC could cut the wood piece out. Then we drilled out 12 holes for the 3D-printed pieces.
Final Product
Finally, we inserted the 3D-printed Jibbitz pieces into the Christmas Tree to finalize our project.
After finalizing this project, we realized a reflection was needed for the hardships we faced during this project.
Reflection
We think this project was a great learning experience. We encountered various challenges that pushed us to utilize our problem-solving skills and creativity. Analyzing the project’s outcome has allowed us to acknowledge our mistakes, learn from them, and improve our future projects.
