Button Hair Pins
We have tons of buttons, many that do not have matching pairs. Turning these orphan buttons into hair pieces is fun, unique, and super easy. Great activity to do with kids.

Nail Polish
If you want to add a bit of color to your hair pins, put them on a piece of cardboard and paint whichever side you plan to use with nail polish. This is totally optional.
Sew
Thread a needle giving yourself 6-8" of thread and tie a knot at the end. Using the threaded needle, tie a slipknot around the bobby pin--this helps give a little stability while you sew the button onto the bobby pin. Sew as many times around the bobby pin and in and out of the buttons as you feel are needed to get the button feeling secure and not wobbly. Tie a couple of knots and then snip the excess thread. Add a dab of super glue to secure the knots.
Wear
These button hair pins are an easy way to color coordinate and accessorize. I've seen similar hair pins in stores for $5-10, and these I made with items I already had laying around the house.
