Boxxy: the Cardboard Mask
It was just a simple mask, and took about 45 minutes, mostly because I used ducktape for aesthetics, and because I ran out of hot glue. 😬
Supplies
scissors, (cardboard shears/exacto knife (for eyes, because cutting circles out of the middle of cardboard with scissors is hard)
cardboard
ducktape (or hot glue)
black mesh
Making the Front, Sides, and Roof.
I cut a square that would be big enough to fit across my face and cover my forehead and chin. Just cut what feels right for your beautiful face. Make sure the sides are the same height as the front, and make two—one for each side. Also, I forgot to add, make the of the front ones. One in front, (with the eyes) and one in back left blank. These should all be the same height. I recommend making the sides longer than the front, or it might get uncomfortable. Lastly, for the roof, just put a piece of cardboard on top, measure the endpoints of the front and side, and then cut till they intersect. This should make a roof that fits perfectly with all 4 sides.
Making the Eyes!
This part can be difficult, but put the box on your head, and mark out where the eyes should be. Then, using scissors or an exacto knife, cut to relatively medium eyes out, and make sure that even with big eyes, you can see out. Then, cut a small square of black mesh and make sure it covers both eyes when you tape/glue it in on the inside.
Adding Detail
You can add emotions, by cutting half circles and putting them on the eyes like eyelids. Boxxy can be happy, sad, angry, ANY emotion. I also added a few small pieces of scrap duct tape as detail. I did a little eyelid thingy to show detail.
You're Finished!
where this to a party or something, or just for fun! I like wearing it for fun. You will probably also add foam on the inside to fit better. You will probably add it to the side, so just cut the right amount of foam to fit comfortably.
