Book Hider

book hider(new version)

Did you ever saw a movie that people hide there drugs, they dug the hole inside the book and hides the drug inside the library? And this is all my thought coming from, using the same idea to make it more modern and more enjoyable. This machine is to hide anything you want, for example, phone, money, paper, or anything you want to put it in.

Collect Needs for This Project

Tools:

  • box cutter(to cut holes in your book)
  • tape(if you need it)
  • Superglue(to stick the stick and servo motor together)

Material:

  • Cardboard of 17.6cm x12.6cm
  • A book that is about 1150 page(such as biology book)
  • Arduino Leonardo(you can buy it at https://chosentech.info/product/%e7%9b%b8%e5%ae%b... )
  • Button for Arduino
  • Servo motor
  • Computer or power source to connect to Arduino
  • Wires
  • A stick (I prefer to use disposable chopsticks)
  • Resistance(1k Ohms)

Building the Structure

Cut a hole inside the book of 17.6cm x12.6cm, and cut about 700 pages, you can decide by your self. Then cut another 6cm x4.3cm hole above the book like the images above. This step might take most of your time during this project. how deep of your book might affect your project, so choose your book carefully. Also, please remember to add a few pages that haven't been cut above and at the bottom. Then, add some space for your servo motor, it needs to get closer to the bookbinding. it will be easier for the book to open.

Type Your Code and Circuit

This part will be all about software. The code was quite simple. First, the code will make the servo motor to work, by reading in the D2 pin. If your Arduino read the D2 pin, then your servo motor will turn to 90 degrees. If your Arduino didn't read the D2 pin, then your servo motor will turn back to 0 degrees. By this program, you can use the bottom to control your Arduino. Next, you need to build your circuit, follow the circuit pictures above.

Finish - Combine the Parts Together

This is where the project is getting finished. You can test out if your book works by pressing the button. If it does not work, look at your circuit. Or If you want, you might change the value if you need it. this could help your project work better.
