Ball Bearing Game Pucks
Missing those table top curling, shuffleboard or "Rebound" pucks? They can be hard to find and expensive to replace.
Here's a simple, inexpensive way to make your own using some ball bearings and 3D printed rings.

Supplies
- 14 millimetre ball bearings - As many as you need for your application. AliExpress is a good place to purchase them. The rings are sized for 14 millimetre ball bearings.
- PLA filament in the colour(s) you want.
Printing and Assembly
Before starting your 3D printing job, put the ball bearings in the freezer. If they're cold, they'll be minutely smaller in diameter making it easier to insert them in the printed rings.
Use the provided .stl file in your printer slicer software to print as many rings as you need. Print the rings. 5% infill with no support works well. On an Ender 3 V2, it takes about 8 minutes to print one ring.

While the rings are still warm from the printer, install the ball bearings as follows:
- Take the ball bearings from the freezer.
- Place a ring flat on a hard surface and place a cold ball bearing on top of the ring.
- With one hand, hold a piece of wood or thick cardboard on top of the ball bearing and use a hammer to briskly and firmly strike the wood/cardboard to quickly force the ball bearing in to the ring. The coldness of the bearing, the warmth of the ring and the condensation layer around the ball bearing should allow it to be inserted into the ring with a mild to moderate hit.
Repeat for all your pucks.
