This is a beautiful bird toy made using cardboard where we can balancing it on its beak

The concept center of gravity is helping us to achieve this excellent balance, Centre of gravity is the imaginary point where the entire weight of the body is considered to be at one point

Supplies

The material required for this projects are very simple which we can easily find in our home

  1. card board (any like delivery package ones or notes hard cover ...etc)
  2. scale
  3. sketch pen or marker
  4. scissor
  5. coins - 2
  6. cello tape or double sided tape

Marking and Cutting the Cardboard

cut the carboard in the shape a square of any dimensions with respect to your cardboard size here i have made 10cm side.

cut out the square after marking using the scissor

draw the diagonals on the square , as shown in the picture set (draw) the head and beak

Obtaining the Centre of Gravity

Draw the entire bird as shown and picture and cut it out using Scissor.

Now try to balance on beak of the bird its not possible because the center of gravity is at the point where the two diagonals intersect on the bird.

In order to shift the center of gravity to beak of bird we need to add weight so we use coins and stick them at the wings using cello tape or double sided tape as shown in the image.

Now try to balancing the bird at its beak (bend the beak slightly down) on your finger.

Now we are able to balancing it if you feel any instability in model adjust the coins at the wings part and obtain the beautiful balance.

Final Model
