Baking Soda Pizza Dough (plus Pizza Cupcake Recipe)

For making the pizza dough, you are going to need:

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 3/4 cups of water (you might need a little more if the dough doesn't come together)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 1/8 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 1/8 teaspoon of lemon

The Dough

First, put your flour in a bowl, and set it aside. Then, take out your baking soda and lemon. Combine them and add that to your flour. This is a really good yeast substitute and all you have to do is add in equal amounts of lemon and baking soda until you get an amount equal to the amount yeast you need. Anyways, add in your pinch of salt and make sure that all of those ingredients are mixed in before you add the water. If the dough doesn't come together after two minutes, add in a little more.

The Pizza Part

Now you are going to get a cupcake pan and put cupcake wrappers in it. Dust your area so you can roll out your dough. Once it has evenly been rolled, place pieces of dough in the cupcake wrappers. Evenly butter and garlic sides and bottom of the dough. Scoop salsa into the dough cups. Sprinkle cheese on top of that, and add pepperoni. Since there was already pepperoni in the salsa I had, I dodged all of them when putting in the salsa so I could put them on top of the cheese later. If there are other toppings that you want on your pizza cupcakes, put them on now before you bake your creation.

Bake It

Bake the pizza cupcakes for 5 minutes or until the cheese melts. This was a really fun thing to make, but I may have put it in for way more than 5 minutes! Thank you for reading and enjoy!
