Baked Spicy Fish Popcorn Recipe
Here is another easy tasty recipe - Baked Fish Popcorn ! :) ..
This is a great starter, sidedish, salad wrap, taco filling or a simple hot hot snack on a cold evening !! .. enjoy :)
Ingredients: ( For Baked Fish Popcorn ..... Serves 2 – 3 )
Fish Fillet – 350 gms ( any white-fish-fillet, I used snapper fillet )
little oil – ( to coat the foil and drizzle on top of fish)
To marinate the fish:
1/3 tsp – turmeric powder
1 tsp – chilli powder
1 tsp – coriander powder
1 tsp – fennel powder
1/2 tsp – garam masala powder
1/4 tsp – pepper powder
2 tsp oil salt to taste
To coat the fish:
1/4 cup rice flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp chilli powder
Cut the Fish Into Small Pieces
Step 1) Rinse the fish fillet, cut them into small bite-size pieces ( 1″ cubes ) and place on a kitchen tissue for 5 minutes to remove excess water
Marinate the Fish
Step 2) Marinate the fish fillet with ‘ to mariante the fish ingredients ‘ ( turmeric, chilli, coriander, fennel, garam masala, pepper, oil, salt) and keep aside for 5 minutes..
Preheat Oven & Grease Foil
Step 3) Preheat the Oven to 200 C / 400 F. Line a baking tray with foil and grease with a tsp of oil ( or use a parchment paper )
Prepare Fish Coating
Step 4) Prepare the fish coating with ‘ to coat the fish ingredients ‘. ( In a bowl, add the rice flour, salt, pepper, chilli powder and mix )
Coat the Fish Pieces
Step 5) Coat the fish fillet pieces in the rice flour mixture ( 8 – 10 pieces at a time ) and arrange on the greased foil. Once the fish pieces are arranged in foil, drizzle a tsp of oil on top..
Bake
Step 6) Bake at 200 C / 400 F for 12 – 15 minutes or until golden orange with slightly browned edges…
note: do not brown it fully, look for random light-brown edges or spots ..
Time to Munch :)
Step 7) Once ready, take them out and let it sit in the foil for 2 – 3 minutes.. slowly release the baked fish from the foil and place on a serving dish..
Serve it HOT with any sauce of your choice or just MUNCH them as I always do :)..
