A tasty side dish for any occasion, that is easy to make. Well at least for those who like sauerkraut.
This was a slight after thought following the Broccoli and Bacon Salad Recipe I posted, so I apologize for the lack of step by step photos. I hope you enjoy.

Preparing the Kraut
First drain and rinse the 3 bags of sauerkraut. Put the kraut in to a large baking dish.
Frying the Bacon
Take your bacon and cut into small pieces. Once you have cut up the pound of tasty meat place into your frying pan and put on medium heat. You want the bacon cooked but not crispy.
Into the Small Bowl
Now cut and chop the onions and mushrooms into small pieces. With the onion it is easier to cut in half and score into a grid as in the pictures. Once you have done cook the onions and mushrooms down for a little while in your 2nd pan. Once they are done dump the 2 cooked items into the baking dish with the sauerkraut.
Then dump the pan of bacon in drippings and all into the baking dish and mix everything together.
