Assembling a Crochet Housewarming Gift

I am always looking to make high-quality and meaningful gifts for people I can quickly make. This week, I wanted to make a thoughtful housewarming gift that I would not spend a ton of time on. Almost all of the items took me only about 30 min and are really cute and practical. I do not include a full pattern of how to make these, as they are all pretty popular and the full patterns can be found easily. I do include a small description of what I did if you are just looking for an idea.

Basket: Crochet a basket with some stiff yarn or use medium weight and size down on the hook. I used med-weight red heart yarn and some velvety yarn I found in my stash. Working in rounds, make a base using treble crochets. Work out and up until you reach your desired size. If you are a beginner (or incredibly short on time) I would say to buy a basket.

Sunglass case: Optional; Mine is a lovers' stitch with cloth lined inside.

Soap: I have goat soap that I added to my basket but as long as it fits the color scheme and looks nice it will work

Face scrubbies: These were a pretty easy project to whip up. All you have to do is crochet puff stitches in a round with cotton yarn. You can find specific instructions on how to make them pretty easily.

Soap Saver: These are also pretty easy. Simply crochet a rectangle roughly 16 by 7 cm (or 7 by 2.5 inches) using treble crochet stitches and fold and sew. I added a little "hanger" so it could potentially hang. You could add a button, but I think that buttons may be uncomfortable to wash with. There are quite a few different patterns and styles online, so I'd recommend looking at those a choose which one is closest to your skill level.

Pendants: I just whipped these up on the couch with a .2 mm crochet hook. Just have fun with it. I bought the gold key rings and I really like them vs the traditional nickel ones. I thought they'd make nice luggage zipper tags or backpack charms.

Bookmarks: These were small last-minute installment. I used the Lemon peel stitch and treble stitch with some embroidery floss. You could also add beads or other accessories. The length can be however long, but I'd recommend not going beyond 5-6 cm (about 2 in) for the width.

I made these labels to have a small explanation for each item and its purpose. If you are buying stuff that came in not-so-nice packaging, I recommend taking the items out of the box and replacing their labels with these. The sheets are printable and pretty self-explanatory. Print out on cardstock paper and cut along the dotted lines. Then attach with the care instructions flap on top. You made need a PDF reader or converter based on your computer. Assemble so that all of the items are clearly seen and understood. I tried a few different configurations but I like the last one the best.
