Anthropologie-Inspired Mirror Makeover

Hi Instructables! Are you a fan of vintage-inspired and elegant mirrors from Anthropologie? Their designs have been in the trend for some time now and are really excellent addition to any home. But what if you can make your own DIY Anthropologie-Inspired Mirror for a fraction of the cost? I am excited with you about how I restyled my old mirror using paint, gilding wax, and gorgeous moldings along with a video tutorial!

Here are the supplies I used;

Mirror

Towels

Heat Gun

Utility Craft Knife

Adhesive Glue

Heatbendable Moldings

Black Chalk Mineral Paint

Gold Gilding Wax

To remove the back and frame, I removed the screws and the mirror can be easily popped off. Once removed, I kept the backing to reuse later.

I cleaned the mirror carefully as the edges of the mirror are sharp.

After cleaning the mirror, I choose moldings and did a little "fitting" to the mirror. When I was happy with the design, I painted the moldings black.

For the best adhesion, I used heavy-duty glue to stick the moldings onto the mirror.

To add a beautiful gleaming finish, I rubbed gilding wax to the moldings. This gives the whole piece an elegant and sophisticated look!

And here's the finished look! I really love the fabulous new look. Every element made the mirror look so refined and exquisite. And if you are looking for home decor on a budget, you can make this easy DIY!
