American Flag

24" x 13" wood American Flag, without color and stars.

Supplies

-9" x 7.5" piece of Walnut

-16" x 4.5" piece of Walnut

-16" x 3.5" piece of Cherry

-24.5" x 3.5" piece of Walnut

-24.5" x 3.5" piece of Cherry



Upper Left Part of Flag

1) Plane one side of the 9" x 7.5" piece of Walnut so one face is flat

2) Use the jointer to get one side of piece straight

3) Square the rest of the piece down so it is 8.5" x 7" using the Table Saw

1) Plane one side of the 16" x 4.5" piece of Walnut AND the 16" x 3.5" piece of Cherry so both pieces have a flat face

2) Use the jointer to get one side of each piece straight

3) Use the table saw to cut 4 pieces of Walnut with a 1" width

4) Use the table saw to cut 3 pieces of Cherry with a 1" width

5) Glue the pieces together alternating between Walnut and Cherry (Walnut, Cherry, Walnut, Cherry, etc.)

6) Once dry, square the piece to 15.5" x 7" using the table saw

1) Glue the Upper Left Part of Flag and the Upper Right Part of Flag together

1) Plane one side of the 24.5" x 3.5" piece of Walnut AND the 24.5" x 3.5" piece of Cherry so both pieces have a flat face

2) Use the jointer to get one side of each piece straight

3) Use the table saw to cut 3 pieces of Walnut with a 1" width

4) Use the table saw to cut 3 pieces of Cherry with a 1" width

5) Glue the pieces together alternating between Cherry and Walnut (Cherry, Walnut, Cherry, Walnut, etc.)

6) Once dry, square the piece to 24" x 6" using the table saw

Final Glue Up

1) Glue the Upper Half and Lower Half of the Flag together

2) Once dry, plane the flag down to your desired thickness
