Almond Sugar Cookie Dough Balls
My grandma’s cookies were always the highlight of Christmas time, but to be honest, all us grandkids liked to do was eat the dough before it ever made it in the oven. Thus, I give to you the delicious almond sugar cookie dough balls that we constantly snuck out of the bowl without her looking. :)

Supplies
2 sticks of butter
1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. of almond extract
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 1/4 cups of flour
1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. of almond extract
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 1/4 cups of flour
Cream Wet Ingredients
Cream butter, powdered sugar, egg, and almond extract together in a bowl. Make sure that the butter is softened almost to the point of being melted. This is to insure that the mixture creams easily and there are no chunks of butter. The mixture will be yellow in color when creamed.
Add Dry Ingredients
Combine flour, salt, and baking soda in a separate bowl until homogenous. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredient bowl until well blended. The dough will look crumbly and separated into small pieces, but should easily stick together when pressed in your hand.
Shape
Form the cookie dough into balls at whatever size you like. I won’t pretend to know the measurements for what I make, since I just go with what feels like a snackable size.
Bag & Freeze
As you form the cookie dough balls, place them in freezer bags to store for later snacking! They can keep for up to 3 months in the freezer if you can stand to let them last that long. Enjoy!
