Air Powered Bottle Rocket
This rocket is a simple craft and very fun to use. It only takes about 20 minutes to build and can launch up to thirty feet.
What You Will Need
For this project you need...
-A utility knife
-A two liter bottle
-Some carboard
-A bike pump with a needle
-Half of a cork
-Spray paint
-Wax paper
-Hot glue gun
Making the Fins
For the fins look at the first picture, and trace and cut it out.(Make three)
Next spray paint them any color.
Decorating
After the fins are ready, Cut out a design or picture out of construction paper and glue it to the bottle with hot glue. Next wrap the bottle in wax paper and glue it on, to keep the design from getting wet.(If you don't have wax paper you can color the design in crayon and it will waterproof it, but not as good)
Preparing
To attach the fins hot glue them to the mouth of the bottle.(They should be evenly spaced out)
After that, poke the needle through the half cork. Once the needle is in the cork, fill the bottle about 1/4 of the way with water.( You may need to do a little more or less) Next stand the bottle on the three fins. You are now ready to launch.
Launching
Finally, pump the pump about three times and the rocket will shoot off up to 30 feet.
