Air Plant Display Frame

This is a fun and inexpensive way to make a nice holder for air plants. Every thing used for this Instructable were supplies I already had, the only thing I bought was the air plants (Etsy 5/$13) .

For the stringing material I used copper color wire but really any string, thread, etc. will work. I chose wire because it'll last longer. To make your plants look like they are floating in the frame, use clear thread or fishing line.

Air Plants are easy to care for and do not require soil. You can leave the plants in the frame and spritz with water or remove the plants to soak in water for 15-20 minutes once a week and hang upside down to dry. I find it easier to leave the plants in the frame and spray with water.

I have no idea where this frame came from, I found it in our craft room. It already had two hooks in it, so I added 4 more. Then I found some flat tacks and added those. I used jewelry pliers to tighten the hooks.

The stringing is very abstract, I just wrapped the wire around one end to secure it and then threaded the other end through all the hooks at different angles. I did cut the wire to make it easier to work with.

I tried to weave each plant into smaller sections of the crossed wires. Putting the leaves between wires helps keep the air plant in place.
