AZ GTE / AZ GTI Polar Alignment Tools
The AZGTi is a great little mout, perfect for nomade astrophotography save one little detail: it has no easy way of performing a neat polar alignment. A commonly used workaround is to use a Polemaster. After a first, rather complicated way of doing so (uploaded on Thingiverse), I re designed a v2, based on an idea seen on the new AM5 mount: simply put a vixen mini dovetail shoe on the mount and fix the Polemaster on a 3D printed support at this standard.
Files for the adapter and the Polemaster dovetail mount are available on Printables:

Installing is very easy: remove the batterieslocate the green line just below the AZGTi lettering. It has the very good idea of being perfectly horizontal and measuring exactly 4 cmDrill two 3 mm holes at exactly 1 cm from each end of this line = exactly separated by 2 cm (see picture)Fix the support and the dovetail mount using flat headed 3 mm screws, some washers and square nuts (see pictures)Then you can either perform a rough polar alignment using a red dot finder or a fine one using a polemaster
WARNING: This hack, while very easy, will most likely void your AZGTI's warranty
Supplies
- PLA filament
- The Polemaster UNC adapter
- A Kodak quick release screw (see picture), available for instance on Amazon
