3D Printed PS5 Using Raspberry Pi 3 Model B

This amazing project took me about 1 month to complete, I had many problems with components not working or cables and wires being cut. It all started with me finding out I could make a retrogaming machine using the raspberry pi microcontrollers. I first started to make the program and installing all the rom files to have free games on my console. Then, I thought it looked a little bit ugly and could do some relooking. I thought of a design that would fit well my project and saw the new PS5 that just came out. I made the design of my case using Fusion 360 and there will be a link to the stl files in the supplies. Then, came all the 3D printing and the painting. I first painted my design using a brush and acrylic paint but it turned out to look very bad and cheap. So, I bought a spray painting kit to make it look better, and it does look more professional. By the way, If you have white and black filaments, better is to do it right away so there is no need to paint. Have a look to the process it took me!

Supplies

For this project you will need,

  2. A 5v 1a power supply board (Amazon)
  3. A 5v 2a DIY Powerbank board (Amazon)
  4. 2 1200mah lithium batteries (Amazon)
  5. A pushlock button (black) (Amazon)
  6. Some wires
  7. A micro-usb to usb cable, to be cut to save some space

If possible, use black and white abs because I spent hours sanding it and painting it right but if you want to do it, your choice!

Here are the stl files for each three parts: the front black part, and the 2 side panels.

Part 1 is to be printed in white

Part 2 is to be printed in white

Part 3 is to be printed in black

Then, to the next step---

Putting the Electronics in the PS5-

When you finished 3D printing the parts, you can now go on to the assembling process. You first have a small opening in the top of the box, where you can place your batteries and DIY Powerbank modules. Then, in the whole of Part 3, you can hot glue the round switch in place. on a small platform right under the small opening of before, place the battery charger module, and just below glue the raspberry pi according to the ports on Part 2. Connect one end of the usb cable from the raspberry pi micro-usb port to the usb port of the power bank module. The rest of the wire connection will be in the file below. Now, to the next step!

Assembling the PS5-

I deal it you can use hot glue to glue this together but the best is eventually 3D Printing glue, which is the best for this material. Finally, charge the battery, connect it to a tv, and admire your final results!
